23rd November 2019 found 100 members of Fareham Bowling Club dancing the night away at their Annual Presentation Dinner and Dance.

Included in the photos below are Rosemary Bailey and Richard Playford who were winners of the Ladies' and Men's Club Singles - well done to both of them.

Alongside Rosemary and Richard you will see the best dancing shoes of the evening - who do they belong to??

The sun shone on President’s Day for this

year’s President, Paul Nicholls, and the

members of the club who participated in an

enjoyable game of bowls, with the

gentlemen versus the ladies.  The ladies

won on three rinks and the men on four

rinks but the men won the overall score.

Bearing in mind that there are twice as

many men in the club as ladies, one could

comment that the ladies put up a good

fight.  The ladies had one guest playing

for them – Paula, who made a valiant effort

but her knickers kept falling down and

    impeding her game.

However, she made a lot of money that

day – one way or the other!!!

Our President, Paul Nicholls, and our Club Captain, Bob Scottow, celebrate our win on Sunday 23rd June in the Matchmaker competition at Lockswood Bowls Club.  The Matchmaker competition has a long history and is an all-day event with bowlers from the four Fareham clubs (Fareham, Crofton, Portchester and Lockswood) each playing a total of nine hard-fought pairs, triples and fours matches against the other three clubs.  Portchester and Fareham tied overall on match points but Fareham took the trophy with a total shots score of 115 to Portchester's 113.  The trophy was awarded by the Mayor of Fareham, Pamela Bryant.

OPENING OF THE GREEN - 13th April 2019

Posted on 14th April, 2019

Our President, Paul Nicholls, and our Club Captain, Bob Scottow, welcomed Fareham's

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Mrs Pamela Bryant, and the Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Louise Clubley, to 'open the green'.  We should encourage them to join a they both rolled some good woods near to the jack.

The weather was dry (for which we had to be thankful) although it was rather nippy on the extremities. But everyone was dressed up warmly and following a very pleasant natter with cheese/wine/nibbles we played our first spoon drive of the season.  Two of or most experienced members amassed the most points in the spoon drive - Mary Lowe and Mike Coleman - winning a bottle of wine each.
